madhu's house

project completed in 2010

Perched gracefully atop the architect's parents' existing house, this innovative dwelling seamlessly merges modern design with practical considerations. Given poor soil conditions, the addition prioritizes lightness, featuring an RCC filler slab roof and a butterfly-shaped PUF panel roof. A double-height living room visually connects upper and lower levels, fostering a sense of openness. The upper level hosts a master bedroom and family room, both extending to a captivating roof garden. This verdant oasis not only offers tranquility but also ingeniously collects rainwater from the distinctive butterfly roof into a serene water body, exemplifying sustainable design integration.
